I arrive to Doha, grab an Uber and check into room 414 of the Al Najabi Hotel. The room is great, with a balcony view over looking the souq and in the distance you can see the West Edn skyline. I am happy. There are also dates and Arabic Coffee downstairs.

Wake up, coffee. I walk over to the Bird Souk and then do some shopping in Souq Waqif. Time slips by. I eventually make it to the Museum of Islamic Art. The price is a tad high for one museum (the say the ticket is good for other, but I only have time for one) but I decide to shell out and go for it. This was a good decision because the museum was fantastic. There was a temporary exhibition about Baghdad, which of course plants a seed for a future visit, and the permanent collection on the upper floors covers hundreds and maybe thousands of years of history with well preserved artifacts like jewelry, weapons, rugs, clothes, vessles, books and even music. There is a lovely terrace where I catch an epic sunset. In the evening I head over to the West End to walk along the Corniche and check out the tall buidlings. This neighborhood is not as lively as where I am staying, but it is good to visit. I end up at the Four Seasons, on the point, and Uber back to the Souq. I have dinner at an Azerbaijani restaurant, where the workers are from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and the Philippines. They mention they want to come to the USA.
