Potala Palace reflections, Lhasa, Tibet — November 28, 2004
Tibet is perfect in late November, a bit cold in the shade, but the most intense skies and colors. This was before they built the train there.
Sera Monastery སེ་ར་, in the hills North of Lhasa, Tibet — November 30, 2004
We took bikes to this monastary. You can rent the bikes throughout town or from you hotel. It’s only about one and half miles to the temple from the center of Lhasa, but considering Lhasa is at 11,450 ft (3,490 m) you are going to be winded. It’s definitely worth the trip, and be sure to do the circut around the temple, clockwise, and then hike up into the hills behind to see the Tibetan scriptures painted on rocks.
