In the Lion's Den is a phenomenal photo documentary of the Lions of the Serengeti. Each page is graced with stunning images of lions, documenting nearly all stages in the natural history of Iwago's subjects. Pictures of mating, baby cubs, hunting, feeding, and fighting amongst males excellently portray the culture within a pride of lions and are accompanied by brief captions that identify the captured behavior. While the pictures are excellent, the accompanying text is brief and only superficially explains the scene. More factual information would be much appreciated, but it is obvious from the excellent graphical design of the book that the photography is on display and the text is merely an afterthought. Iwago has succeeded in compiling a beautiful, brilliant and comprehensive book that will beg you to flip through the pages on many different occasions.
